Adams set to turn to fringe players

Port Vale manager Micky Adams is using the Johnstone's Paint Trophy game against Carlisle as a chance to give his fringe players a run out. Adams, though, is still keen to field a strong team at Brunton Park with Jemal Johnson likely to be given a first-team opportunity. The on-loan midfielder has been given the go-ahead to play by his parent club MK Dons despite them still being involved in the competition. Adams has stated some of his players were looking jaded after seeing his Vale side lose 2-1 to Oxford on Saturday and would make changes for Tuesday`s clash. Louis Dodds and Rob Taylor may be given the chance to impress after regular substitute appearances. Defender Kris Taylor may also come into the side at left-back.
