Adams promises fresh Vale start

Vale struggled in League Two last term, eventually limping to an 18th place finish under Dean Glover, who replaced Lee Sinnott as manager earlier in the campaign. Yet Adams insists he will walk into the dressing room without any preconceptions about his personnel - not least because he did not watch the Valiants play last year. He told The Sentinel: "When a new manager comes into a football club, there will be players who will be absolutely delighted because they maybe didn't get on with the last manager. "There will also be players who are disappointed because they liked Dean and didn't want him to go - you have to understand that. "Everybody will be given an opportunity to show what they can do. Some players who weren't in the picture last season could come to the fore this time."
