Micky Adams admits he is flattered to be linked with the vacant managerial post at Sheffield United but insists he is fully focused on matters at Port Vale until told otherwise by his chairman Bill Bratt. Adams, born in Sheffield and a boyhood Blades fan, is being widely tipped to replace Gary Speed following his impressive fortunes in turning the Valiants around over the past 18 months. Speaking about speculation linking him to the Championship club following Speed`s appointment as Wales boss, Adams told BBC Radio Stoke: "They will have received hundreds of applications and it's flattering. But until something changes that's all I can say." He added: "I'm a Sheffield boy, I played for the junior team, my mum, my brother and sister are based in Sheffield, Port Vale are doing great - I'd be disappointed if I wasn't linked with it. "Until my chairman and the board say they have had an approach from Sheffield United, or any other club, I'll just get on with my job here and I am pleased to be doing it."
