Adams frustrated after draw

Port Vale boss Micky Adams bemoaned his side's profligacy after they were held to a goalless draw at Cheltenham. Gary Roberts went close for Vale and a Marc Richards ball in deflected off Cheltenham's Andy Gallinagh onto his own post. It was more of the same in the second half with Justin Richards firing wide in the 47th minute before Marc Richards dragged a shot badly wide six minutes later. Roberts and Justin Richards, again, missed further chances as Vale were frustrated. "I feel slightly frustrated because we have had the best chances but we didn't take them and we should have won the game," said Adams. "Looking at the positives we've had chances, I think recently we've struggled to create so many chances and this was exactly the opposite. I thought Cheltenham started very well in the first 10 to 15 minutes but then we took hold of the game. "Justin Richards did miss a good chance and goal scorers thrive on goals and it breeds confidence in the side but it's not all about Justin because Marc Richards had a good chance in the second half as well."
