Although the Vale board have already drawn up a six-man short-list, chairman Bill Bratt revealed the former Fulham, Leicester and Brighton boss could still be in contention. "Micky isn't one of the six candidates short-listed because we only received his CV on Thursday," Bratt told the Sentinel. "He could still make the short-list, but I haven't had the chance to talk to the board about his application yet." Ex-Cheltenham and Carlisle boss John Ward and former Leyton Orient chief Martin Ling are believed to be among the contenders.
