Adams angered by McCombe red
Marc Richards gave Vale the interval advantage from the penalty spot, shortly after Adebayo Akinfenwa had missed one for Northampton.[LNB]Akinfenwa equalised from a second spot-kick soon after the break when McCombe was dismissed.[LNB]"I'm very disappointed. The game turned on the sending off because there was only going to be one winner at half time, and that was us," said Adams.[LNB]"Northampton were there for the taking and if we'd been left with 11 men on the pitch I'm sure we would have won it.[LNB]"Northampton didn't have any real chances apart from the penalty and the first offence was outside the box but the referee played advantage.
