Poland coach Pawel Janas accepted that his side had been well beaten in the 2-0 loss to Ecuador that got their World Cup finals campaign off to a dreadful start.
Although Ireneusz Jelen hit the crossbar and Pawel Brozek curled a shot against the post in the last few minutes, Janas' side failed to match the pace and power of the South Americans and now face a crucial showdown with hosts Germany.
Janas said: "We are not in a comfortable situation going into the Germany game.
"We have to pull ourselves together because we have been beaten up both emotionally and physically.
"For sure not everybody played as I wanted them to. I don't want to comment now. We will analyse what happened."
Midfielder Jacek Krzynowek was in total agreement, adding: "We did not play well. Everyone saw that.
"We must look forward and concentrate on the match against Germany."
