Glik in Poland squad for World Cup qualifiers
Poland coach Waldemar Fornalik on Tuesday announced his squad for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers away to Montenegro on September 7 in Podgorica and at home to Moldova on September 11 in Warsaw.
Fornalik added seven names to a 16-man list made up exclusively of foreign-based players, unveiled on Friday.
Apart from Torino defender Kamil Glik and Reims midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak, the new call-ups are all from the Polish league.
The 49-year-old Fornalik, who has spent his entire career in the Polish league as a defender then coach, was appointed in July to replace Franciszek Smuda.
Smuda quit early following a disappointing showing on home soil at Euro 2012, where Poland failed to make it out of their group.
Fornalik's reign started badly when Poland lost 1-0 away in a friendly against Estonia on August 15.
Poland, Montenegro and Moldova are in qualifying Group H along with England, minnows San Marino and fellow Euro 2012 hosts Ukraine.
