Fearless Lewandowski ready for Germany game

Despite Lewandowski being kept quiet by Northern Ireland in their Euro 2016 opener, Poland still managed to get off to a winning start thanks to a second-half goal from Arkadiusz Milik.

However, top spot in Group C belongs to World Champions Germany after a Shkodran Mustafi header and a late goal from Bastian Schweinsteiger saw them past Ukraine.

The pair meet again in France having been in the same qualifying group for the tournament itself.

Both sides won a game apiece and despite tipping Germany to go all the way, Lewandowski is adamant Poland won't be running scared ahead of their latest clash.

"It will be a special game against Germany. We know each other very well. We met twice in the qualifiers and Germany are the favourites for me, not just on Thursday but also to win the tournament. They can go all the way," Lewandowski told Die Welt.

"We know how strong Germany are. But we will fight. Everything is possible in a tournament like this.

"We have to stay calm and act confident. We must play without fear and don't have any stress.

"We know it will be hard, but it's only football and we must enjoy ourselves. We can do it if we approach the game like that."
