Summerfield close to Argyle return
Plymouth manager Peter Reid insists Luke Summerfield is not quite ready to make his return from injury and will wait to receive a nod from the midfielder before throwing him back into reserve action. The talented 23-year-old, son of Pilgrims legend Kevin, started the season in promising form but sustained a serious knee injury just four matches into the campaign.A second separate medial ligament problem upon his return to training in November has meant 2010/11 has largely been a campaign to forget, but Summerfield may yet still return to play a part before the season is out.Reid told the club`s official website: "We did a stamina session early on in the week with the lads and to be fair he was way off the pace. But he`s coming on and we`re just taking him day by day. When he`s comfortable about going into a reserve-team game we`ll put him in there."Reid added: "That`s up to him. If he comes to me and says he`s ready to go into the reserves, he goes in . If he plays well in the reserves he has a chance to go into the first team. That`s down to the lad."
