Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock felt his side had been below their best for part of their 4-1 demolition of Colchester United at Home Park.
The result kept the Pilgrims on track for a play-off place, but Sturrock was not entirely satisfied.
He told the Evening Herald: "I thought we were very poor to the standards I want to achieve in the first half. We were very sloppy and could have quite easily gone in at 1-1 at half-time.
"I thought Colchester made it very difficult for us, but we had a wee chat and lifted the tempo in the second half.
"We started to get our wingers on the ball much more and we created a lot of chances."
Meanwhile, Sturrock has confirmed that he has given his side a points target to try and achieve to clinch a play-off place.
He added: "I have given the team a certain points total I want them to accumulate, so this is a start.
"I would hope to think we would be going into the last game of the season with something to play for."
