Sturrock sets points target

Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock has revealed he has set a target of three more league wins for the Pilgrims to avoid relegation.

The Devon club are in 19th place, two points above the relegation zone, after losing 1-0 away to fellow strugglers Norwich City on Saturday.

"We need to get into the 52 point bracket if we're going to be safe," conceded Sturrock.

"That puts a lot of pressure on us, but in the last three or four games we've been undefeated at home and we're going to very much have to call on the players again."

The signing of young striker George Donnelly widens Sturrock's pool of players and the 20-year-old, brought from Skelmersdale United this month, has revealed his goals for the season.

"I just want to work hard, build my fitness up and try to get into the squad," he said.
