Sturrock praise for MacLean
15 Dec 2008 - 12:17:31
Plymouth Argyle striker Steven MacLean earned praise from boss Paul Sturrock after scoring a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw at home to Queens Park Rangers.
The 26-year-old drifted out of the first-team reckoning earlier this season, but has responded well to a dressing-down from Sturrock and is starting to push for a starting spot again.
Strurrock told the Evening Herald: "I thought Steve did really well for the goal.
"He and I had words earlier in the season because I felt he had lost confidence in front of goal.
"But since he has come back into the fray, I can't fault his application or attitude.
"It was nice he got the icing on the cake as far as the equaliser was concerned."
