Sturrock loans out Puncheon
04 Aug 2009 - 12:51:50
Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock has allowed Jason Puncheon to return to former club MK Dons on a season-long deal.
Dons boss Paul Ince is a keen admirer of Puncheon and the deal was struck on Tuesday ahead of the new season.
Speaking to the club's official website, Sturrock said: "I have thought long and hard about Jason.
"He is a very talented player. The problem is that Jason has to be playing regular football to benefit himself and, in the end, to benefit us."
The winger joined Argyle for a fee of £250,000 from League Two side Barnet in the summer of 2008 and soon established himself as a first-team regular.
After the side's poor form he was dropped and was allowed to join MK Dons, where he started his career.
He helped the club's drive to the League One play-offs last season, where they eventually lost in the semi-finals against eventual winners Scunthorpe United and made 28 appearances while on-loan scoring four goals.
