Sturrock keen to keep Hayashi

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is keen to take a longer look at goalkeeper Akihiro Hayashi.

The Japanese shot-stopper looks set to extend his stay at Home Park until January 20101 at least.

The 22-year-old has been training with the Pilgrims for the last fortnight after leaving Romanian side FC Astra in August.

Hayashi does not currently qualify for a work permit to play in England but the club remain hopeful there may be a change in the regulations.
