Sturrock has defensive concerns

Plymouth Argyle's shaky defence continues to be a cause for concern for manager Paul Sturrock.

The Pilgrims have kept just one clean sheet all season and have struggled with a variety of injuries, suspensions and poor form to their defenders on top of the loaning of the disruptive but experienced centre-back Marcel Seip.

Adding to the problems are a fresh injury to right-back David Gray and the suspension of Shane Lowry after he was dismissed for receiving two yellow cards in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat to Swansea City.

"The defence has caused us a lot of problems this year," said Sturrock.

When asked about on-loan Aston Villa centre-half Lowry, he added: "He's a young boy and he gets himself excited."
