Sturrock eyes new signings

Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock is chasing new signings despite the uncertainty surrounding the club's proposed takeover.

Shonan Management Corporation, a Tokyo-based company owned by Home Park director Yasuaki Kagami, is edging close to a deal to take over the Championship side.

However, Sturrock's transfer policies are not being affected as he continues to chase the signatures of new players.

"I'm under a chairman and directors at this minute of time that have made it plain what they want me to do," the Argyle boss told the Evening Herald.

"I'm going down that road. Now, if the takeover happens, then there will be another discussion to be had.

"At this time we are still soldiering on as far as bringing players here. We are letting them see the place, discuss personal terms and everything else."

Sturrock also confirmed that he had met players with regards to moves to Home Park.

"I've talked to several players about whether they'd like to come to Plymouth Argyle," he added. "We've had a couple of players down and they've had a look at the whole place.

"Of course it would be an ideal world if it was all over today, but I've been in this position many times to realise it takes a lot longer than that."
