Sturrock eyes Fletcher return

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is hoping to be able to agree a permanent deal for Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher.

The 29-year-old impressed while on loan at Home Park and is set to leave the Eagles this summer after not being offered a new contract at Selhurst Park.

Sturrock told the Evening Herald: "Chief executive Michael Dunford and the player's agent are chatting to see what the story is.

"Carl has shown an interest in coming to the football club, but there is still a lot of water to go under the bridge."

Fletcher scored once in 13 appearances for the Pilgrims, having previously played for Bournemouth, West Ham United, Watford, and Nottingham Forest.
