Reid revels in morale-boosting win
Plymouth boss Peter Reid admitted the 2-1 win over Colchester would lift "everyone connected with the club."Reduced to 10 men after 57 minutes when Chris Clark saw red, the Pilgrims rallied to triumph thanks to Yannick Bolasie's crisp 74th-minute penalty. It has been a tough week or so for Argyle, who were docked 10 points for appointing administrators but Reid's side bounced back from Tuesday`s 4-0 thrashing at leaders Brighton to take the three points.Reid said: "We have talked about the run of defeats that we have been on, but fair dues to the players, after the disappointing performance against a really good Brighton side they have bounced back."I thought we deserved our victory, we dug in and it's a welcome three points. I think it lifts everyone connected with the club, players and supporters alike."It's a win and a win in football is fantastic. It's a great fillip for anyone involved at the club with what's gone on."As a manager I was pleased because win, lose or draw the lads showed plenty of character. That's all I ask, they have certainly done that and it gives you a good feeling when it is a victory."
