Pilgrims trial Toon starlet

Plymouth Argyle have handed a trial spell to 18-year-old Newcastle United defender Paul Huntington.

The Carlisle-born stopper is down at Home Park this week and is expected to feature in a reserve-team game before boss Ian Holloway decides whether to hand him a loan deal.

The England Under-18 international is highly-rated at Newcastle, where he is currently under contract until 2008.

If he does move to the Pilgrims it will only be on a temporary basis so he can secure some experience of playing first-team football.
