Pilgrims snare striker Cooper

Plymouth Argyle have bolstered their attacking options with the loan capture of Kenny Cooper.

Cooper, 25, has been allowed to return to England by parent club 1860 Munich after struggling to break into the first-team picture at the German outfit this season.

The former Manchester United youngster, who previously played for MLS side FC Dallas, is hoping his move to the Championship can boost his chances of being named in the USA's World Cup squad.

"I went to the club with the wish to get a short-term loan move in an attempt to have regular match practice," said Cooper. "I know both coaches at Plymouth, Paul Mariner and John Carver, from my spell in the MLS.

"I know I'm getting my chance to recommend myself for the World Cup squad of my country. Hopefully I'll be able to score goals to help Plymouth win."
