Pilgrims pounce for Walton

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock has broken the club's transfer record by snapping up the QPR midfielder Simon Walton on a four-year deal. The 20-year-old moves to Home Park in a deal that is thought to be worth £750,000. The Pilgrims' previous record outlay was the £500,000 they paid Cardiff City for Steven MacLean in January. "Simon's a player who I've monitored for years and I feel he's the perfect person for us," Sturrock told the club's official website.
