Pilgrims list errant Walton

Plymouth Argyle have placed record signing Simon Walton on the transfer list following his sending-off in the 2-0 weekend defeat at Barnsley.

The 21-year-old midfielder only joined the Pilgrims last summer, but has struggled to make his mark at Home Park since joining from QPR for £750,000.

He further blotted his copybook against the Tykes by being sent off for lashing out at Anderson De Silva, causing boss Paul Strurrock to take immediate action.

He said after the Oakwell debacle: "We're a hard-working team with a good work ethic, but they weren't given the opportunity today because of someone's stupidity.

"Simon and I are having a conversation on Monday morning about the whole scenario. There's no point me getting excited about it, because things get taken out of context.

"So the metaphorical belt will be brought out on Monday and we'll see where we go from there."
