Pilgrims land Hungary pair
17 May 2007 - 09:35:09
Plymouth Argyle have broken their transfer record after completing the capture of Peter Halmosi in a £400,000 deal.
The Hungary international has agreed a three-year contract after impressing Pilgrims boss Ian Holloway during a successful five-month loan stay at Home Park during the current season.
The fee is £50,000 more than Argyle paid Manchester United for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake last summer.
"I am delighted that Peter has enjoyed it here and settled down, and wanted to re-sign," Holloway told the club's official website.
"He is outstanding. He is a magnificent professional. He is so spot on with the way he lives, what he does and how he does it.
"I am delighted that I have had the backing to able to do the deal."
Meanwhile, the Pilgrims have also completed the £75,000 signing of fellow Hungarian Krisztian Timar.
The tall centre-back initially joined Argyle on loan from Hungarian side Ferencvaros in January.
However, Argyle have released young goalkeeper Josh Clapham after he failed to break into the first team.
