Pilgrims grab share of spoils
Plymouth snatched a late equaliser through Yannick Bolasie to hold Carlisle to a 1-1 draw and climb off the foot of the League One table. The hosts had led through James Berrett's 34th-minute strike, but Bolasie glanced a header just inside the right-hand post from substitute Jim Patterson's free-kick, a goal which came after Carlisle had been on top for much of the second half. The Cumbrians were keen to bounce back from their heaviest defeat for nine years at Peterborough on Saturday, but they failed to make their possession count and the struggling Pilgrims finally got some reward.Plymouth had the edge in the early stages and almost took advantage of a misplaced pass inside his own half by Lubomir Michalik, only for Bolasie to pass last defender Peter Murphy and lash his angled shot into the side-netting.Murphy, making his 400th appearance, had a header from a Berrett corner scrambled off the line. But Carlisle did take the lead courtesy of a fluent move as Francois Zoko's pass picked out Mattie Robson on the left, and the full-back clipped a low first time ball inside Berrett who placed his shot neatly inside the right-hand post from 15 yards.Carlisle were more lively after the break and only a smart save by Romain Larrieu kept out a Ben Marshall shot. The keeper was more fortunate with a Michalik header in the 73rd minute, fumbling the effort away off the line at the expense of a corner.Bolasie had looked Plymouth's main danger and it was fitting that he was responsible for their late leveller.
