Plymouth Argyle boss Ian Holloway has admitted defeat in his efforts to bring Chelsea youngster Scott Sinclair back to Home Park.
The 18-year-old scored four goals in 18 outings for the Pilgrims last season, but has now forced his way into the first-team reckoning at Stamford Bridge.
Holloway told The Herald: "We are totally out of the picture now because we have been told he won't be going anywhere.
"So I think he's well and truly part of their squad. Good luck to him, I'm delighted for him.
"I have always rated him and when he came down here he was a breath of fresh air.
"This is why I don't really like borrowing anyone else's players. I would rather make them mine if I can.
"But if there are good young players available and I can help them and I can use them and we can benefit from that, then great."
