New deal for Argyle starlet

Plymouth Argyle have handed Luke Summerfield a new one-year contract.

Summerfield, 20, broke into the first team at Home Park towards the end of the recently completed season and has been rewarded with a new contract.

The son of the club's assistant manager, Kevin Summerfield, made seven appearances for the Pilgrims.

The news of Summerfield's deal comes hard on the heels of fellow defender Mathias Doumbe agreeing a new two-year contract with the Championship club.
