Millwall take duo on trial
01 Aug 2009 - 14:01:54
Plymouth Argyle manager Paul Sturrock has allowed Mathias Doumbe and Simon Walton to go on trial at League One side Millwall.
Doumbe, a French centre-half, who can also play at right-back, started his professional career at Paris St. Germain before moving to Scottish Premier outfit Hibernian in 2001.
The 29-year-old made over 50 appearances for the Easter Road-based club before joining former Hibs boss Bobby Williamson at Plymouth Argyle in 2004 and he is available for their friendly against Middlesbrough.
Speaking to the official Plymouth website, manager Paul Sturrock said: "We've given permission for him to play the game so he's travelled up and trained with them this morning."
He has made 140 appearances for the Pilgrims, scoring four goals.
Walton has also joined the Lions as he prepares for the news season and Sturrock said: "Walton has been away for the last three or four days now."
