Mariner upbeat ahead of Iron test

Published: 18 Mar 2010 - 14:52:56

Second-from-bottom Argyle are buoyed by Tuesday's night's 3-2 home win - thanks to skipper Carl Fletcher's stoppage-time winner - which moved them to within four points of the Iron, beaten 3-0 at leaders Newcastle on Wednesday. Mariner said: "Obviously we are very upbeat. The lads are on the front foot, very positive. "Every single game since we (Mariner and assistant John Carver) have been in charge seems to have been a six-pointer and Saturday's no different. "Scunthorpe will want to put it right having lost at Newcastle, who are a fantastic team playing at St James'. They will be battling hard as we will so it should be a pretty exciting Championship game."
