Judge wheels into Plymouth
05 Aug 2009 - 09:16:43
Plymouth Argyle have signed Blackburn Rovers winger Alan Judge on a season-long loan.
The attacking midfielder spent a spell on-loan at Home Park last season and his explosive pace and mazy runs quickly made him a fans favourite.
He made 17 appearances and scored two goals after his debut against Ipswich Town in January and has since established himself in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.
Speaking to the club's official website, manager Paul Sturrock said: "Judgey showed a commitment to the football club last year - his zest and enthusiasm was a benefit to us and helped take us over the final hurdle.
"He has got to prove himself again. He has done a full pre-season at Blackburn and he brings vitality to our team, which rubs off on everybody else.
"It is a season-long loan with an option for both sides to reassess in January, but I am very hopeful that we won't have a problem with that."
