Duguid backs duo to fire

Plymouth Argyle veteran Karl Duguid has backed team-mates Rory Fallon and Jamie Mackie to help fire the side up the Championship table.

Twenty-four-year-old Mackie scored his fourth goal of the season as the Pilgrims claimed a shock 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough at the end of October while New Zealand international Fallon was celebrating scoring the decisive goal against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday in a 2-1 win.

Duguid believes the pair are now finding the form that will push the Home Park outfit away from the relegation zone.

He told the Evening Herald: "He's the Rory Fallon who we all see and knew was in there, but it's just taken time to bring that out of him.

"Every time he's gone to an international, he's done really well for them (New Zealand), which has been a confidence-booster for him.

"It's made him realise what a good player he is and Mackie causes havoc whoever he plays against."
