Argyle snub Norris request

Plymouth Argyle have turned down a written transfer request handed in by midfielder David Norris.

Leicester City and Ipswich Town are reported to be leading the chase for the 26-year-old, but the Pilgrims will not be railroaded into allowing Norris to leave on the cheap.

They are believed to be holding out for a fee of around £1.5million for the former Bolton Wanderers schemer.

A short statement from the Pilgrims said: "Plymouth Argyle can confirm that they have received a written request for a transfer from midfielder David Norris.

"After due consideration, the request has been refused by the club."

Norris moved to Home Park, initially on loan, in October 2002 and has gone on to score 28 goals in 243 appearances for the Pilgrims.
