Argyle seal Fletcher loan

Plymouth Argyle have boosted their struggling squad by bringing in Crystal Palace midfielder Carl Fletcher on loan for the next month.

Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock told the club's official website: "I have been after Carl for a while and he has come in for a month to strengthen and bolster the midfield area."

The Wales international is likely to go straight into the squad to face Sheffield United, a match Argyle must win to avoid extending their streak to ten games without victory.

"He is very thoughtful when the other team has got the ball. He talks and organizes your midfield and he sees a pass when he gets on the ball.

"He is all fit and ready for tomorrow," Sturrock added.
