Plymouth Argyle will make a decision on the best way to treat Peter Halmosi's knee injury early next week, with the Hungarian winger possible facing an operation.
The 28-year-old was injured in the 1-1 draw against Watford last weekend, sustaining the problem in the challenge which saw him red-carded by referee Phil Joslin.
Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock told the Evening Herald: "The medical team, Peter and myself are in discussions about what the best course of action is.
"Any comment on that will be made next Monday or Tuesday.
"The scan has shown bits and pieces in his knee, but we are not sure of the severity of it.
"I played with cartilage trouble all my life and the stuff that showed up on the scan might not just be from last Saturday.
"We have all got this big meeting to come along to and it will give us a bit of time to assess everything."
