At the beginning of the 2003/04 season Peter Gilbert signed for Birmingham City. Shortly after he signed for Birmingham he joined Plymouth Argyle,he proved himself in his time there and shortly after he joined he was one of the first names on the team sheet. He moved to Leicester in July 2005 and in the same season was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday before a permanent move in 2006.
