Plymouth top scorer Bradley Wright-Phillips took his tally to 10 goals in 10 games with goals in the 77th and 90th minutes as Argyle beat Bristol Rovers 3-1 at Home Park.
Both goals followed the same pattern. Winger Craig Noone crossed from the left and striker Wright-Phillips finished with aplomb from close range - the first at the far post and the second from the middle of the six-yard box with a first-time volley.
On-loan Spurs midfielder Dean Parrett volleyed Argyle ahead in the 64th minute after Noone's free-kick flew up off the defensive wall, but Rovers levelled in the next attack.
Pirates striker Will Hoskins volleyed home skipper Stuart Campbell's 67th minute corner from close range.
Plymouth started the match on fire, finding the woodwork three times in a 10-minute first half spell.
Bradley Wright-Phillips hit the post on 10 and 20 minutes while Craig Noone's 20 yard shot was palmed on to the bar by Pirates number one Mikkel Andersen.
