Summerfield "gutted" by penalty miss

Midfielder Luke Summerfield has spoken of his disappointment at missing the chance to earn Plymouth a vital point from Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Peterborough. The 23-year-old came off the bench to make his first appearance since August following a serious knee injury, but saw his last-minute penalty saved by Joe Lewis to deny the Pilgrims a share of the spoils. "I'm gutted, to be honest. There are no other words for it," Summerfield told the Plymouth Herald. "I'm gutted for the boys more than anything, not for me. They were outstanding and didn't deserve to lose at all. I was glad to get on, but I'm gutted I didn't get them a point." He added: "I'm always confident in my ability and I don't think I could have hit the penalty any better, to be honest. "But, at the end of the day, it hasn't gone in and that's not good enough. We didn't walk away with a point or three points like we should have, and I'm just gutted."
