Sturrock's position as Pilgrims boss has come under threat following a run of just one win in their last 15 Championship games.[LNB]The sequence has seen Argyle tumble to 19th in the table and just three points outside of the relegation zone.[LNB]Speaking after Tuesday night's 3-1 home defeat by Crystal Palace, Sturrock insisted he would not walk away from his second spell at the Home Park helm.[LNB]The Argyle board met on Wednesday and issued a statement afterwards which made no direct reference to Sturrock's future at the Devon club.[LNB]"Today, we conducted our regular monthly meeting of the Argyle board of directors," read the club statement.[LNB]"During the course of the meeting, we held talks with the manager in which the deep concerns of the board regarding the team's position in the Championship were fully aired.[LNB]"The directors believe that Argyle staying in the top two tiers of the league is paramount for the future of the club and will do all in their power to ensure that situation endures."[LNB]Sturrock seems certain to remain in charge for Saturday's visit of Sheffield United. The Pilgrims are desperately trying to bring in new loan signings ahead of the clash against Kevin Blackwell's Blades.[LNB]Former Scotland international Sturrock, 52, returned to Argyle in November 2007, having previously enjoyed a successful stint in the West Country.[LNB][LNB]
