Sturrock seeking settled defence

Argyle have slumped to the Championship basement ahead of Saturday's trip to Newcastle following a 1-0 home defeat by Watford, their fifth successive league defeat.

Sturrock's selections have been dictated to a large extent by injuries to key defenders.

He admitted: "We need a settled back four. I've had to make too many personnel changes back there and I want to put out a back four that will be there for 10 or 12 games.

"Ahead of the defence we are looking much better and creating chances but we need stability to build on at the back. That's the key to it."
