Sturrock: Pilgrims need to kick on

27 August 2009 13:59
Sturrock was heartened by the team's performance despite a 2-1 defeat at Derby last week, where the Pilgrims conceded a last-minute goal.[LNB]He said: "It's been a difficult start for us as far as results are concerned. A home fan who looks at results will see that results have not gone our way but if you are an away fan and have watched some of the games we have played away from home this season then you obviously are going to take heart from some of the performances.[LNB]"On Saturday we were not out of sorts with Derby in any way until the (last minute goal) disappointment.[LNB]"I call upon the squad now to stand up and be counted. We need to kick on. If we were to win three points on Saturday it would be a reasonable start given the type of opposition we have already played and that is our aim.[LNB]"We want to put ourselves in mid-table with a good result on Saturday because obviously we have difficult games coming up."[LNB][LNB]
