Reid happy with players

Plymouth boss Peter Reid was pleased with his side`s overall performance despite a dubious penalty and sending-off during their 1-0 loss to AZ Alkmaar. In the penultimate game of their Dutch tour, the Pilgrims showed a similar display to their win over NAC Breda last Saturday and with a positive return of centre-backs Krisztian Timar and Kari Arnason, Reid was in buoyant mood. The former Sunderland manager said on the club's official website: "All in all, in terms of fitness and the way the players have responded, I've got to be really pleased with them. "For the first 15 minutes we were still on the coach. We had an hour and a half [journey] and we didn't start in terms of shutting down. Wee were leggy and we didn't win a second ball. "But after that, besides not really testing them, from a defensive point of view the lads were terrific." Commenting on Timar and Arnason's contribution, Reid was delighted with their return and added: "Both of them looked ever so solid. We got some injuries and I didn't want them to do the 90 minutes but they did and have done fantastically well."
