Reid eyes striking solution

Plymouth manager Peter Reid has reiterated his desire to bring a new striker to the club when the loan window opens next week. Despite the transfer window closing on Tuesday, Football League clubs are allowed to recruit players on emergency loan deals from next week. While Reid is frustrated he could not complete the loan signing of a striker from a Scottish club, he is ready to restart the hunt for a frontman. "A striker is my main priority and I haven't got one in yet," he told the Plymouth Herald. "But, as everyone knows, you can still do it in seven days' time and I'm actively working on it. "I thought I had one tied up but it fell through at the last minute, which was a bit of a blow for me. It was one that needed to get done (before the deadline) because it was a boy in Scotland. "I don't want to mention his name but, unfortunately, his club got a couple of injuries and it kiboshed the deal. It's just one of those things."
