Reid: Argyle deserved draw

Plymouth boss Peter Reid thought his side deserved a point following their 1-0 defeat to Tranmere. Teenager Dale Jennings sealed the win on the hour mark with a fine run through the Plymouth defence and a cool finish into the corner from 15 yards. Argyle rallied late on though and sub Rory Fallon wasted a good chance, home skipper John Welsh cleared Reda Johnson's header off the line and Peter Gulacsi saved superbly from Craig Noone deep into added time. Reid said: "It was always going to be difficult here. It was a great winning goal from their point of view but a very disappointing one for us. The player went half the length of the field without us laying a hand on him. "We kept on going and we had chances but did not stick them away. It just wasn't our day and Tranmere defended very well in the main. We weren't clinical enough and their keeper made some fantastic saves. "But the goal went in far too easy from my point of view. But on another day we would certainly have got some reward. It was a good close affair and I felt we did enough to get something out of it but didn't."
