Puncheon back with Dons on loan

Puncheon, who joined Argyle for £250,000 from Barnet in the summer of 2008, started the season as a first-team regular at Home Park before he made a temporary loan move to MK Dons in October. He came back to Argyle as cover over the busy Christmas period and featured in the 1-0 defeat at Cardiff in December. A swift return to the Dons followed and Puncheon played a huge part in their drive for promotion, which ended in defeat in the play-off semi-finals. Argyle manager Paul Sturrock said: "I have thought long and hard about Jason. He is a very talented player. The problem is Jason has to be playing regular football to benefit himself and, in the end, to benefit us. "I couldn't promise him a regular game with us and I also felt there would be times when we would play differently from the way Jason likes the game to be played. "We had a conversation about it and I thought it was appropriate he went out on loan. It made sense [for him to join MK Dons]. They are nice people, they've looked after him and I am pleased he has got a home where he will get regular football."
