Derek Adams expected to retain starting XI after Pilgrims progress in FA Cup

Plymouth boss Derek Adams could stick with the same starting line-up which booked a place in the FA Cup third round when Wycombe come to town.

Reading loanee Craig Tanner was the only change - at the expense of Ryan Donaldson, who is sidelined with a broken cheekbone - as the Pilgrims claimed a 1-0 victory over Newport in their second-round replay.

Defender Nauris Bulvitis and on-loan Bristol City striker Paul-Arnold Garita are likely to keep their places on the bench as both players recover from respective hamstring and knee injuries.

The Pilgrims will also check on the fitness of defender Ben Purrington, who has a hamstring injury.

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth has had an injury boost as his side head to Home Park on Boxing Day.

Captain Paul Hayes (knee) has been struggling for a number of weeks but has passed fitness tests to be in contention this week and is expected to return.

Dayle Southwell is back in training but is still a a number of weeks away and Ainsworth believes he will be like having a new signing when he returns to the squad.

The Chairboys are unbeaten in seven league games, having won their last six in a row.
