Blanchard back for Argyle

Plymouth manager Carl Fletcher has Maxime Blanchard available for Torquay's short trip to Home Park.

The French defender was suspended for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Accrington after he was dismissed for a second bookable offence against Exeter. Durrell Berry, who deputised in Blanchard's absence against Stanley, is expected to make way.

Fletcher is likely to stick with left-back Robbie Williams, who came through Saturday's game unscathed having been sidelined for over two months with a stomach muscle injury.

Bournemouth loanee Mark Molesley had his loan stay extended last week, meaning the 31-year-old is available for selection in this game, as well as the Pilgrims' clash with Wycombe on December 29.

Argyle, who sit 20th in npower League Two, go into the fixture looking to extend their unbeaten run to four league games.

Torquay boss Martin Ling has a number of options available to him as he looks to replace Ryan Jarvis ahead of the trip.

The 26-year-old former Norwich man is sidelined with a fractured rib and punctured lung sustained in their 1-1 draw with Northampton and looks set to miss the next two months.

Since Saturday's clash with Exeter fell victim to the weather, Billy Bodin has had time to recover from an ankle injury and is vying for a place in the starting XI along with Nathan Craig and Ashley Yeoman.

Torquay remain without Ian Morris (Achilles) and Lloyd Macklin (broken metatarsal) while centre-back Brian Saah will miss out through suspension for his straight red card at Bradford.
