Banton back for Argyle

Plymouth will have Jason Banton available as they look to end Scunthorpe's 20-match unbeaten run.

The former Crystal Palace winger looks set to return to the squad having been sidelined for the last four matches with a groin injury since the win at Dagenham back on February 22.

Banton's return to fitness leaves goalkeeper Luke McCormick and striker Matt Lecointe as the only Argyle absentees which gives manager John Sheridan a selection dilemma but he looks likely to continue with his 3-5-2 formation which has served him well recently.

After a fine recent run of form Plymouth are only outside the League Two play-off places on goal difference.

Scunthorpe midfielder Sean McAllister is hoping to return to contention.

McAllister missed the midweek draw against Southend with a calf injury as the Iron set a new club record of 20 league games without defeat.

Stoke striker James Alabi stepped off the bench on Tuesday night after returning for a second loan spell and is expected to feature again, while winger Gary McSheffrey appears to have shaken off a back problem after playing the full 90 minutes.

Striker Deon Burton (calf) remains sidelined as the Iron, who have drawn nine of their last 11 league games, chase their first win in five.
