Molesley set for Pilgrims bow

On-loan Bournemouth midfielder Mark Molesley could go straight into the Plymouth squad for their clash with Chesterfield at Home Park.

The 31-year-old, who joined on Thursday for an initial 28 days, has not featured for the Cherries since Boxing Day 2011 but finished last season in npower League Two with Aldershot and came on as a late substitute in a defeat to the Pilgrims in April.

Plymouth remain without their suspended captain Darren Purse while defender Scott Griffiths returned to Peterborough following the expiry of his loan agreement.

In Purse's absence, 19-year-old Conor Hourihane captained Argyle for the first time in the 1-0 defeat at Bradford.

He told the Western Morning News: "It was a great honour for me when the gaffer told me I was going to be captain.

"It was a great honour but it could have been any of the lads. I thought there were 11 leaders out there."

Paul Wotton (back) remains out until mid-December while Rhys Griffiths (hamstring) missed Argyle's last two matches.

Manager Paul Cook is expected to name an unchanged team.

After recording his first league win since taking over at the Proact Stadium against Oxford, Cook made just one change to his starting XI for the visit of high-flying Cheltenham in midweek.

Fit-again striker Marc Richards replaced Scott Boden and got his name on the scoresheet in a 4-1 home victory for the Spireites.

Following such a resounding success against one of the division's promotion contenders, Cook is unlikely to make any alterations.

New signings Jay O'Shea and Connor Townsend were on the bench against the Robins. They did not see any action, so they will hope to make their debuts for the club at Home Park.

Elsewhere, Liam Ridehalgh has left after his loan spell expired and Craig Westcarr has joined Walsall on loan.
