Wotton blow for Argyle Plymouth are expected to be without influential midfielder Paul Wotton for the visit of south west rivals Bristol Rovers. Argyle manager Carl Fletcher was forced into substituting Wooton in the second half of the 3-1 defeat by Port Vale on Saturday with the 35-year-old suffering a groin injury. He is being assessed by the medical staff at Home Park but is rated as highly doubtful for the clash with Rovers. Matt Lecointe, 17, is set to deputise for Wooton should he miss out after replacing him on the weekend. Wooton's groin problem adds to a long list of injuries for the Pilgrims, with Fletcher's squad already stretched by the absences of Nick Chadwick, Paris Cowan-Hall, Rene Gilmartin, Rhys Griffiths and Jamie Lowry. The loss to Vale was Plymouth's second in a row and has seen the south-coast club drop to 19th in the league. Bristol Rovers boss Mark McGhee is considering recalling Gary Kenneth into his starting XI for the south-west derby with Plymouth as he looks to boost the experience levels of his young side. The Pirates are yet to win in League Two this season after going down 4-0 to top-of-the-table Gillingham on Saturday and McGhee is hopeful that he can bring back Kenneth for the trip to Home Park. Should the former Dundee man make his Rovers debut it will mark an impressive return to fitness, with the 25-year-old defender not scheduled to be available for selection for almost another two weeks. Cian Bolger, who suffered cruciate ligament damage in the recent draw with Aldershot, remains a long-term absentee.
