In-form Plymouth put Town to sword
Plymouth Argyle extended their unbeaten League Two streak to five matches with a 3-0 home win over Cheltenham Town.
It was Plymouth's fourth home league win in a row, all without conceding.
Plymouth top scorer Reuben Reid took his goal tally to eight with a thumping rising 20-yard drive in the 23rd minute.
Reid was teed up by foraging right wing back Kelvin Mellor, who played an exquisite one-two with Lewis Alessandra.
Argyle deservedly doubled their lead in the final minute of the first half when central defender Peter Hartley powered a header past Cheltenham goalkeeper Trevor Carson from Andy Kellett's free-kick from the right.
The free-kick was awarded following a foul on Plymouth's on-loan Bristol City playmaker Bobby Reid by Cheltenham Town full-back Craig Braham-Barrett, who was cautioned.
Bobby Reid had forced Carson to flap over a 25-yard drive just minutes before.
Jason Taylor went close with a speculative 30-yard drive for Cheltenham in the second half but Argyle surged further ahead when Bobby Reid set up Alessandra to make it 3-0 in the 76th minute with a first-time, close-range strike.
